Avon Battalion

The Avon County Battalion was formed in 1974 to give a home to Companies formed in the suburbs around Bristol.

When the County of Avon was disbanded in 1996, it was dcided that the Battalion should be known as the Avon Battalion, which included Companies in Yate, Keynsham, and Weston-super-Mare.

In 2004, the Avon Battalion consisted of 14 Companies, with around 450 Boys and 100 Officers. The Battalion maintained a full programme for all age groups, and ran compettions throughout each session.

A Company Section Battalion camp was held every year, and a Junior Section Holiday every two years.
