1889 – The Boys’ Brigade Gazette

The first issue of the ‘Boys’ Brigade Gazette was published in March 1889. Six copies were sent to every Company Captain for distribution to other Officers. The first issue contained sixteen pages of small font text with no pictures included to supplement the articles. The Gazette has appeared regularly ever since as the official magazine of The Boys’ Brigade in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The frequency of  issue has changed over time, anything from 10 issues a year, down to the current 4 issues a year.

Featured examples of The Boys’ Brigade Gazette are included in the links, from 125, 100, 75, 50 and 25 years ago. These will be changed monthly where issues are available.
