Membership Cards
Since the very first session Membership Cards have been issued to those who joined The Boys’ Brigade. The earliest cards were simple – often carrying the year only – and from the 1920s through to the 1980s cards carried designs created by members.
The inside of the Membership Card differed from session to session, but space was often left to include the Member’s name, Company, and address which was signed by the Company Captain and laterally also the Chaplain.
Separate cards were occasionally produced for Junior and Company Sections, and since 2010, two cards have been produced annually, one specifically for use by Companies who included Girls in their membership. These variations are all shown below in the timeline.
Many cards over the years have carried The Object of The Boys’ Brigade, a brief ‘BB’ history, and details of who designed the card.
