Treijans – 1926

The Life Brigade Chronicle 1926 – The Cross for Courage has been awarded to Pte. Treijans, of the 1st Liepaja Company, Latvia, for rescuing a boy named Tanaiber from drowning in the Baltic Sea. The rescue was effected at great personal risk, and three times the rescuer had to break free from the drowning person .

The Distinguished Service Diploma was awarded to Pte. Lauberts, of the same company, for assisting in the rescue. The Brigade Secretary presented the Cross and Diploma to the boys at a crowded meeting which was held in the Baptist Church, Liepaja, on July 14th.
